Redlands IndigiScapes Centre will come to life next month with a variety of free entertainment as part of the annual Indigi Day Out festival.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the annual event would be held 1 and 2 June as part of World Environment Day and would incorporate the Folk Redlands Festival of Music.
“This year’s Indigi Day Out event will boast an exciting and entertaining program, including native animal displays, children’s activities and lively music performances in the beautiful setting of the IndigiScapes’ native botanic gardens – all free,” she said.
“This event attracts people from all over the south east and offers great day full of exciting activities that the whole family can enjoy. Last year’s event was attended by more than 4000 people.
Cr Williams said the event also delivered important conservation messages.
“This event is not just about fun and entertainment; it also carries a very important message in terms of environmental awareness. This includes being able to see a koala on Saturday from 11.30am to 1.30pm.”
Cr Williams said the Indigi Day Out program also included a number of workshops such as weaving with weeds, butterfly gardening and living with bats.
