This year’s IndigiScapes digital photo competition has combined the photographic skills of residents with the natural attractions of the Redlands to beautiful effect.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said this year’s entrants were of a very high quality.
“The amazing wildlife of the Redlands offers potential for that really special photo, and the quality of this year’s entrants was fantastic and showcased the skill of local amateur photographers,” she said.
“This year’s overall winning entrant, Craig Petch captured the natural beauty of the Redlands with a green tree frog perched on a ripe red capsicum. Craig’s photo also won the Wildlife in your suburbs category.
“The winning junior entrant was Henry Baskerville with his photo of an insect perched on a leaf.
“Rebecca Doig won the Wildlife in Redlands parks and reserves – birds category, with a beautiful image of a pelican sitting on a branch; while Lyn Hampson won the mammals category, capturing a Joey in its mother’s pouch.”
Daniel Ameer-Beg won the Wildlife in Redlands parks and reserves – other category for his photo of a frog sitting on water. The native plants category was won by Soren Martensen with a beautiful tree at sunset image.
The photographs will now go on exhibition at the IndigiScapes centre and website from 1-20 December.
