Community groups and events can benefit from the latest round of Council’s sponsorship program that opens next week.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the program provided financial and in kind support for eligible events, projects, services or activities that benefit the Redlands.
“Each year the Council sponsorship program helps to support an active and vibrant community in the Redlands by providing funding and in-kind support for local events and community groups,” she said.
“Last year our grants and sponsorship program provided $920,000 towards community-based programs, projects and events that enrich the Redlands community.
“Last year our sponsorship program supported the community through initiatives such as the Island Vibe Festival and the Gatorade Queensland Triathlon Series, along with other exciting events.
“The Redlands has some very generous and creative people who have come up with some great ideas of how they can give back to the community and Council’s sponsorship program helps us support their efforts.”
The sponsorship program is offering a total of approximately $60,000 in this round, with applications to be assessed in two categories:
Category 1: Applications seeking $15,000 or less will be assessed by an internal assessment panel;
Category 2: Applications seeking more than $15,000 will be assessed by an internal assessment panel and recommendations made to Council for approval.
Applications will be assessed against the criteria of providing value for money; track record of applicants; adherence to local laws and permits; level of support required and the benefits to the local community.
Applications are open from 17 February – 28 March. For more information phone 3829 8911, email [email protected] or visit www.redland.qld.gov.au/grants/
