Now is your chance to recognise an inspirational Redlander or local community group for their contribution to the city by nominating them in the 2015 Australia Day Awards.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the annual awards were a great way to show those who went above and beyond that their efforts are appreciated.
“Redland City is made up of truly inspirational people and organisations who give so much back to the community and these awards are a chance to recognise them and say thank you,” she said.
“I am constantly amazed by the selflessness of Redlanders and these awards are not just a source of pride for the award recipients, but indeed they help drive a sense of pride for the whole city.
“The list of past recipients shows the high calibre of nominations received each year and I have no doubt that this year’s awards will again unearth some tremendous examples of inspiration and dedication to the community.”
Cr Williams said nominations were open now until 21 November, with eight categories available for people to nominate their fellow Redlanders or community organisations.
“On Australia Day each year we pause to recognise what makes our nation great and the Redland City Australia Day Awards are a chance to recognise those locals who epitomise the spirit of Australia each and every day,” she said.
“I encourage everyone to think of a person, group or organisation that helps make our city great and go to the Council website to nominate them for these awards.”
Awards will be presented at a special ceremony in January next year.
