People inspired by the artworks of local teenagers in High Schools in Focus I, or those who missed their chance to see this art exhibition, can soon view its sister exhibition High Schools In Focus II.
High Schools In Focus II celebrates the artistic talent of Redland high schools students, capturing the works from Cleveland District State High School, Faith Lutheran College, Ormiston College and Sheldon College.
Redland City Council Community and Cultural Services Spokesperson Cr Lance Hewlett said High Schools In Focus II, on display at Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba from Monday 24 November 2014 – Saturday 24 January 2015, shared the theme ‘Voice’ with its companion exhibition.
“The second of a two part exhibition, High Schools In Focus II shares the same theme as In Focus I but has some very different stories to tell.
“Students worked with Redland Art Gallery staff in a professional gallery environment using a range of mediums to create a piece to the theme of ‘voice’.
“We got to see the quality of works created when High Schools in Focus I was displayed, and part two doesn’t disappoint, telling similar tales of teenage life but through a host of new, talented, unique ‘voices’.
The exhibition will be officially opened at 10.30am on Saturday 22 November, with a floor talk by curator, Dominique Macedo and participating art teachers.
To attend the opening RSVP acceptances by Thursday 20 November 2014 to (07) 3030 4163 or email: [email protected]
