Redland City Council is hosting a free expo on Thursday 20 November to help seniors connect to local services, information and activities.
Council’s community and cultural spokesperson Cr Lance Hewlett said the expo, being held from 9am – 1pm at Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC), would be a ‘one-stop shop’ for people wanting information on living a full and active life in the Redlands.
“People can talk with service providers and learn more about the local programs and activities available for seniors,” Cr Hewlett said.
“There will also be free music, entertainment, tea and coffee and light refreshments.
“The aim of the day is for people to have fun and easily access information on leading a healthy, enjoyable and meaningful life as a senior in Redlands.”
Speakers on the day include:
• Janice Ellson with the keynote address: “How to Live at Home Forever”.
• Nicky Adjei from Queensland Aged and Disability Advocacy
• Representatives from Redland District Committee of the Ageing speaking on the services and opportunities they provide seniors in Redlands.
There will also be a range of stalls with information on recreational activities, health and associated services, volunteering and much more.
RPAC is located 2-16 Middle Street, Cleveland. For more information, call Council’s Community Development team on 3829 8937.
