Redland City Residents are advised that while the worst of the rain has now passed over the Redlands there are still dangers associated with the heavy rainfall dumped by ex-tropical cyclone Marcia.
In particular residents are being warned to not swim in flooded waterways and be careful of fallen trees.

10.35am BOM Severe thunderstorm warning
Bureau of Meteorology have issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING – SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND for DESTRUCTIVE WIND and HEAVY RAINFALL including Redland City.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 10:25 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near northern Moreton Bay, northern Moreton Island, Comboyuro Point, Cape Moreton, Calboolture and Tangalooma. These thunderstorms are moving towards the south. They are forecast to affect Amity Point, Brisbane Airport, Mud Island and southern Moreton Island by 10:55 am and Logan City, Cleveland, Peel Island and Point Lookout by 11:25 am.
Destructive winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

SANDBAGS A self-service sandbagging station is set up at the Redland Showground (Norm Price Park), Long Street, Cleveland for residents to collect bags and fill them themselves.
