A story in this week’s Redland City Bulletin entitled “Council votes down road to Basin” incorrectly reports that Council elected not to build a road to allow vehicle access to the Amity Point Basin.
No such decision has been made. A Council report referred to in the story was deferred to allow further discussions to occur.
While pedestrians can access the Amity Point Basin, vehicle access through the camping grounds is at the discretion of Straddie Camping. Council is continuing to discuss options for vehicle access with all parties.
