The tourism team and Straddie Camping were particularly busy at the recent Brisbane 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo, with a lot of inquiries from people who wanted to “reconnect” with the Redlands.
Those who staffed the display took a stroll down memory lane with quite a few people who fondly remembered being taken to North Stradbroke Island when they were children. Most indicated they were keen to return and take their kids to relive their adventures on the island.
Other common inquiries were about dog-friendly camping, day trips to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and Coochiemudlo Island, and boating facilities.
