Gathering Strands Art Exhibition

A multi-layered exhibition celebrating the vitality of Indigenous fibre work by bringing together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander weavers, fibre artists, and established and emerging visual artists from across South East Queensland. Curated by Freja Carmichael, recipient of the 2014 Australia Council Emerging Curator’s Fellowship.
This project has received financial assistance from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s Backing Indigenous Arts program and the Gordon Darling Foundation, and is supported by QYAC.

Our Island, Our Story, Our Art: Quandamooka Artists from the Redland Art Gallery Collection

An exhibition by Redland Art Gallery and Redland Libraries presenting the works of 15 Quandamooka artists spanning 35 years (1981 – 2016). Exhibiting artists include Damien Abberdan, Elisa Jane Carmichael, Sonja Carmichael, Naomi Chapman, Belinda Close, Brendon Coghill, Megan Cope, Sandra Delaney, Eva-May Monaghan, Oodgeroo Noonuccal, Dale Ruska, Morgan Shipway, Craig Tapp, Steven Thelander and Joshua Walker.
