Businesses and organisations will have the chance to impress and inspire at Redland City Council’s inaugural Redlands Coast Careers Expo.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said Council was looking for businesses to be part of the free expo to be held on Friday 4 June, 9am-6pm, at Alexandra Hills Hotel Conference Centre.
“Residents of all ages, from school students to those looking for a career pivot or study options, will be able to discover new opportunities at the expo,” Cr Williams said.
“The event is intended to be a one-stop-shop for those pondering their career options, so having the right exhibitors and sponsors is crucial.”
Cr Williams said becoming an event sponsor or exhibitor was a perfect way for education and career specialists and other organisations to bolster brand awareness and target key audiences directly.
“I encourage organisations to take up this excellent opportunity to promote their products and services in a meaningful and engaging way.”
Cr Williams said organisers were expecting a high level of participation at the expo, with digital technology, entrepreneurship and future creative industries among the key focuses.
“Information about these fields will be especially helpful for senior school students who are exploring further study or career and work opportunities,” she said.
“Council has been collaborating with local schools to make sure the expo targets information and career paths that are relevant to them.
“We also want to offer inspiration to tradespeople looking for up-skill opportunities as well as ideas and incentives for those people who are returning to the workforce after an absence.
“It is also a chance for the wider community to find out about new and popular pathways that are available in the working world.”
Exhibitors and sponsors can find more information about the expo at the Redlands Coast website.
