Redland City Council has extended the closing dates for its current grants and sponsorship opportunities due to the recent severe weather event.
Mayor Karen Williams said the extensions had been implemented to give community members and businesses time to recover from the effects of the heavy rainfall and flooding experienced across south-east Queensland earlier this month.
“We wanted to give potential applicants the opportunity to look after themselves and their property without the worry of needing to meet a grant deadline,” Cr Williams said.
“We want to ensure individuals and organisations have enough time to gather the information necessary to complete an application, whether it is for a community grant, sponsorship or one of the new Village Events and Activation Grants.”
The new closure dates are:
- Community Grants – 21 March. Community Grants are available in three categories: organisation support (with funding up to $3000), project support and conservation (both with funding up to $10,000).
- Sponsorship – 28 March. Two sponsorship packages are available: $15,000 or less or for more than $15,000. There is additional funding support of up to $1500 to support Quandamooka cultural awareness at sponsored events or activities.
- Village Events and Activation Grant – 4 April. Grants of up to $12,000 are available in each of 10 centres across the city to help promote local centres and make them more vibrant.
Information, including guidelines and how to apply, is available on Council’s Grants and sponsorship website.
