Council and contractors are working to repair damage to roads, bridges and parks caused by a series of severe weather events in the first half of 2022.
Council is in discussions with the Queensland Reconstruction Authority around damage to the Coburg Street West footbridge in Scribbly Gums Reserve, confirming that it meets their criteria for funding. These works are planned to be completed in late July 2022, subject to weather and other potential project constraints.
Meanwhile, the repair works to the smaller bridge along Platypus Track will occur over the next few weeks, with the completion date expected to be late June 2022, weather permitting.
Council understands these bridges are an important part of Redlands Coast local walking and cycling trials, and will continue providing the community with updates as the works progress.
Council appreciates your patience while these important works are carried out.
