Applications are now open for the first round of Redland City Council’s 2023-2024 Community Grants program.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the program provided funding to support projects and events undertaken by local community organisations and individuals.
“These projects contribute to the vibrancy of our Redlands Coast community and many are initiated and managed primarily by volunteers,” Cr Williams said.
“Last financial year, Council was proud to support 34 local organisations with Community Grants funding totalling almost $142,000.
“This included funding to help train and upskill volunteers, plan for future music festivals, clean-up island coastlines, and support initiatives that raise awareness of domestic violence.
“The diversity of previous successful applicants illustrates the range of initiatives supported by our grants program, and I urge anyone with a project that can deliver clear benefits to the community to apply.”
Community grants are available in three categories:
- Organisation support up to $5000, to help with planning, governance and management practices
- Project support up to $10,000, to help with one-off projects, events or activities
- Conservation grant up to $10,000, to help with conservation projects.
Applications for round one of the 2023-2024 Community Grants program close on 27 August 2023.
