Redland City Council has teamed up with three Australian music industry professionals to hold an event that aims to empower aspiring young musicians on Redlands Coast.
Rock pop musician Ella Hooper, music industry allrounder Leanne DeSouza and Queensland Music Awards nominated rapper Sachem will be part of FutureBeat at Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) on Friday 5 April.
The event will provide a platform for young people aged 15 to 17 to kickstart their music industry journey and acquire practical skills essential for success, whether as artists, managers, event organisers or technicians.
Redland City Council’s Creative Arts team has collaborated with YMCA Redlands and local young people to not only provide professional avenues but also boost employment prospects and nurture creative growth within the community.
FutureBeat will feature a participatory panel discussion, round tables with industry leaders and practical workshops, providing attendees with invaluable insights and guidance from the professionals.
Council’s Creative Arts Service Manager Bradley Rush said FutureBeat was not just an event, but a platform for empowerment and growth.
“Participants will have the opportunity to harness their potential, identify and overcome barriers they face, and learn the essential skills necessary to thrive in the industry,” Mr Rush said.
“We’re excited to leverage this opportunity with Ella Hooper (who performs at RPAC on the evening of FutureBeat) and share our knowledge and experiences with the next generation of musicians and industry professionals, helping them pave their own paths to success.”
Spaces for FutureBeat are limited and bookings are open now.
