The Electoral Commission of Queensland has declared the results for Redland City Council, with a new Mayor and two new councillors among the 11 who will represent the city for the next four years.
Jos Mitchell was elected as Mayor of Redland City.
Shane Rendalls was elected as Councillor for Division 5, replacing retiring councillor Mark Edwards, and Jason Colley was elected as Councillor for Division 9, replacing former councillor Adelia Berridge.
This is the declared list of divisional Redland City Councillors:
- Division 1 – Wendy Boglary, elected unopposed for a fifth term
- Division 2 – Peter Mitchell, elected for a third term
- Division 3 – Paul Golle, elected for a third term
- Division 4 – Lance Hewlett, elected for a fourth term
- Division 5 – Shane Rendalls
- Division 6 – Julie Talty, elected for a fourth term
- Division 7 – Rowanne McKenzie, elected for a second term
- Division 8 – Tracey Huges, elected for a third term
- Division 9 – Jason Colley
- Division 10 – Paul Bishop, elected unopposed for a fourth term
The Mayor and divisional Councillors will be formally sworn in at a Declaration of Office ceremony on Monday 8 April 2024. This event is not open to the public but will be recorded and available on Council’s website following the ceremony.
The ceremony will be followed by a Post-Election Meeting at 12pm to elect a Deputy Mayor. This will be livestreamed from Council Chambers.
