Calling all Redlands Coast artists and performance companies.
Redland City Council is seeking expressions of interest for its public exhibition and resident company programs at Redland Art Gallery (RAG) and Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) respectively.
Mayor Jos Mitchell said the EOI process aimed to identify artists and companies that aligned with Council’s strategic goals, enhancing cultural, educational and commercial value for the Redland Coast community.
“Both RAG and RPAC are vital hubs for arts and culture in our community, and we are looking for artists and organisations that share Council’s vision for growth and creativity,” the Mayor said.
“This is a chance to partner with Council in delivering innovative and engaging experiences that enhance our local culture and support our Creative Arts Service Strategic Plan 2024-2029.”
The Mayor said RPAC was seeking expressions of interest to become or continue as a resident company for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
“Redland City Council, through RPAC, has provided considerable support for current companies in residence and we hope this EOI process will help to further enhance growth in the vital community arts sector in our region,” the Mayor said.
“We welcome companies who are ready to collaborate with us in shaping the future of the arts on Redlands Coast, creating vibrant and diverse cultural offerings that enrich the lives of our residents and visitors alike.
“RPAC is therefore seeking expressions of interest from companies with a commitment to cultural enrichment, professional development and community engagement.”
Successful applicants will enter a two-year rolling partnership with RPAC.
The Mayor said RAG was seeking expressions of interest for exhibition proposals for 2026 to 2028.
“Redland Art Gallery has presented a public exhibition program for more than 20 years, focusing on quality contemporary practice in all mediums by local and national artists at all stages of their career,” the Mayor said.
“As part of the process for determining this program, the gallery invites local artists, artist collectives and curators to submit an expression of interest to exhibit at both RAG and the RPAC Mezzanine in 2026-2028.
“Exhibitions generally run for six to eight weeks and are often accompanied by workshops and talks by artists and curators.”
The Mayor said successful applicants for both EOIs would contribute to Council’s Creative Arts Service Strategic Plan 2024-2029, which focuses on the four pillars of Engagement, Partnerships, Spaces and Sustainability.
“These are exciting opportunities for our creative residents to work closely with both RAG and RPAC, enhancing their profile and impact while contributing to our community’s cultural vibrancy,” she said.
“We encourage all artists and performance companies to submit an EOI and help us continue to make Redlands Coast a leading destination for the arts.”
