EARLIER (WEDNESDAY 5 MARCH 2025)

Redland City Council’s mainland Recycling and Waste Centres at Redland Bay and Birkdale will be open today (Wednesday 5 March) until 5.15pm (last vehicles) to allow for essential waste disposal.

Birkdale top stockpile area is now closed, only cardboard and general waste is being accepted. Please note sites may close at short notice if wind speeds exceed safety limits.

Island sites will remain open during normal opening times today (weather permitting).

All mainland and island Recycling and Waste Centres will be closed from tomorrow, Thursday 6 March, until further notice.

Residents are reminded that kerbside collections will stop from tomorrow until further notice, due to safety and the closure of waste disposal sites.

Residents can take their waste to a Recycling and Waste Centre today or double bag waste that can’t fit in kerbside bins until next collection.

Make up collections are not possible due to fleet and staff availability.

Bulk bin collections won’t occur on Friday 7 March and may not occur tomorrow depending on conditions. RecycleWorld will be closed on Friday.

Council reminds residents to please secure all bins by either tying them down or storing them undercover or in a garage. Do not leave them out or in a place where they can blow away.
