Boaties are ordered to stay off the water for their own safety as Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches the south-east Queensland coast.
The Regional Harbour Master (RHM) has closed all Brisbane and Southport pilotage areas, associated waterways, rivers, marinas, buoy mooring grids and anchorages to all vessels.
This includes all waterways in Redlands Coast, such as Weinam Creek and Tingalpa Creek.
Vessels are not to leave their moorings or marina berths until the official all clear is given by the RHM.
This applies to commercial operators as well as recreational boaties.
On exception, if approved by the RHM, emergency vehicles can travel however will not be able to do so where conditions are unsafe.
