Please follow Queensland Health guidelines for when to dispose of food waste: Food safety after a disaster | Queensland Health.
Green waste
Residents wishing to dispose of green waste generated during Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred that is directly impacting their residence can do so at the following site, open 6am-8pm daily until further notice.
- 17-25 Giles Road, Redland Bay.
Recycling and Waste Centres
Mainland Recycling and Waste Centres will re-open tomorrow from 7am and stay open later until 5.15pm with a priority for food waste and other odorous waste.
Island Recycling and Waste Centres reopened today, Monday 10 March. Please ensure all waste is double bagged. Refer to the Council website for opening hours: Recycling and waste centres | Redland City Council (redland.qld.gov.au/waste).
Kerbside collection
Kerbside collection resumed on Monday 10 March, including collections on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) and Coochiemudlo Island, and will continue to operate as per Council’s usual schedule.
Crews were unable to undertake collections on Thursday and Friday last week due to safety issues.
Council acknowledges the inconvenience this has caused some residents and has implemented a range of actions to assist the whole community with the post-cyclone clean-up.
