Redlands on Moreton Bay Visitor Information Centre is on the move… to IndigiScapes. It’s the perfect place for visitors to find out what they can do in the Redlands.
For the past four years, the centre was located at Raby Bay Harbour, Cleveland, but will relocate to Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, Capalaba from 12 August 2012.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the change from using an external contractor to manage the centre was all part of Council taking a more direct role in supporting our local tourism industry and servicing visitors to the area.
“With the external provider’s contract about to expire, this is an ideal time for Council to bring the operation of these visitor services in-house, and what better place to deliver them from than our own IndigiScapes?”
“As an established award-winning attraction that saw over 50,000 people through its gates last year, IndigiScapes will be able to offer a fully staffed, cost-effective visitor service.
“Research tells us that 97 per cent of visitors to the Redlands arrive by car. IndigiScapes is located just off Redland Bay Road, with direct access from Brisbane city and airports.
“Finding efficiencies and streamlining Council business is all part of my Back to Basics strategy. Locating the visitor centre at IndigiScapes provides Council with a cost-effective way of servicing the tourism industry and visitors while reviewing our medium and long term arrangements,” Cr Williams said.
