Backburning last night was successful and was completed. The fire is still burning within containment lines.
There is no immediate threat to homes or property.

PUBLIC SAFETY ACT IN FORCE – OBEY EMERGENCY SERVICES
A Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) is still in place for an area on the island bounded by Alfred Martin Way (formerly Tazi Road and also known as Trans Island Road to the east; north along North Stradbroke Island Track (also known as Tripod Track) to the intersection of Beehive Road and East Coast Road, west to the Shoreline at Moreton Bay, south to the water taxi jetty in Dunwich and then east along Junner and Mallon Streets back to Alfred Martin Way.
People within those boundaries should remain vigilant and follow directions given by emergency service agencies.
The Act was declared on Saturday 4 January at 7.30pm following significant bushfire activity in the area.
POWER – EXPECTED FIVE-MINUTE POWER DISRUPTION TODAY
North Stradbroke Island residents and holidaymakers can expect up to a five-minute electricity disruption today as Energex crews plan to switch from generators back to mains.
All of the island already has power through generators, with Amity Point residents getting reconnected through generators yesterday.
Residents and holidaymakers are reminded to continue to conserve energy until mains power is reconnected.
